I was admitted to practice law in 2006 and spent years working as a litigator. That experience gave me skills that are directly relevant to serving on the Board of Education, including critical thinking, attention to detail, the ability to analyze policy, and the discipline to ask the right questions and advocate effectively.
In 2014, I was appointed as a New York State Arbitrator, and I continue to serve in that role today. This work requires impartiality, careful review of evidence, and fair decision making. It has reinforced my commitment to listening to all sides, treating people with respect, and making decisions based on facts.
I will bring these same principles to the Board of Education as I work to support our students, our teachers, and our community.
Since 2018 I have been actively involved in the PTA. Below is a list of my service:
Vice President Forest Ave PTA 2018-2020
President Forest Ave PTA 2020-2022
President PTA Council 2022-2023
As noted above, I have been deeply involved in the PTA, serving in leadership roles at both the school and district level. This experience has given me a clear understanding of the day-to-day challenges facing our students, teachers, and families. It has also reinforced the importance of communication, collaboration, and accountability in supporting strong schools.
I have worked closely with parents, educators, and administrators, listening to concerns, helping solve problems, and advocating for our school community. I will bring that same hands on, collaborative approach to the Board of Education to help ensure decisions reflect the needs and priorities of our entire community.
In 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my family and I founded West Babylon Cares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering food and essential supplies to families in need. What began as a response to a crisis has continued to serve the West Babylon community in the years since.
Through school-based donations and an annual food drive, West Babylon Cares has helped support nearly one thousand families over the past seven years. This work has shown me the importance of stepping up in times of need, listening to our community, and taking action to support one another.
I will bring that same commitment to service, compassion, and follow-through to the Board of Education.
